Author Guidelines

Instruction for Authors

Structure of the article: the text should be compiled in the following order: title page; abstract; keywords; main text introduction, arguments and development of resolution; discussion; conclusion; acknowledgments; declaration of interest statement; references.

Word Limits: 10.000 words inclusive of references. A word count should be indicated in the author page.

Manuscript Submission: papers should be submitted by email eternityandcontradiction@gmail.com. The journal does not review more than one submission at a time per author, including co-authored submissions.

Style Guidelines: any spelling style is acceptable (American or English) so long as it is consistent within the manuscript.

Anonymization: authors should anonymize their submissions so as to conform with the journal's policy. In particular, authors should remove all identifying information including personal acknowledgements from manuscripts.

First Page not for review: the first page not for the review must contain for each author the following information: name (in full), surname, institution and e-mail address. In the case of several authors, the names must be listed in alphabetical order.

Paragraph titles should be short and concise, avoiding the use of sub-subparagraphs where possible.

Formatting: Papers may be submitted in Word (Font type: Time New Roman; body-size: 12) and text should be double spaced. Please use double quotation marks “like these”; long quotations should be indented without quotation marks.

Please, pay attention 1: compositions in bold, underlined, spaced lower case and entirely in capitals should be avoided.

Please, pay attention 2: avoid using footnotes and enter all comments as part of the text.

Parentheses: round brackets are used to isolate a sentence or word from the context and to highlight a reference to the other part of the text. The square brackets are used inside the rounds, to highlight a jump or a lack of text, to introduce the author's comment into a quotation in quotation marks. Punctuation referring to the main text should be placed outside the closing parenthesis.

References: the list of all sources should be in the “references”. In-text citations should follow the author-date method: the author's last name and the year of publication for the source should appear in the text, for example, (Severino, 1978), and a complete reference should appear in the reference list at the end of the paper. Furthermore, it is necessary to indicate the English translations of the titles, between square brackets, after the title. References are styled according to the latest edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA). A sample of the most common entries in reference lists appears below.

Journal article: Severino, E. (1958). Aristotle and classical metaphysics, Philosophy Today, 2, 2/4, 71-82.

Book edition: Severino, E. (1978). Legge e caso [Law and Chance], Milano: Adelphi.

Author details: all authors of a manuscript should include their full name and affiliation on the cover page of the manuscript. One author will should be identified as the corresponding author, with email address normally displayed in the article. Authors’ affiliations are the affiliations where the research was conducted. If any of the named co-authors moves affiliation during the peer-review process, the new affiliation can be given as a footnote. If a work has multiple authors, it is necessary to indicate in end-note the part of text of each author.

Abstract: the article should contain an unstructured abstract of about 100 words.

 Keywords: between 4 and 6
