QUALCHE CONSIDERAZIONE SUI ROTOLI ERCOLANESI ANCORA NON SVOLTI, IN VISTA DI UN FUTURO SVOLGIMENTO VIRTUALE

Abstract

This paper presents considerations on the unopened Herculaneum papyri stored at the Officina dei Papiri Ercolanesi, Biblioteca Nazionale di Napoli ‘Vittorio Emanuele III’. In particular, it attempts to estimate the number of intact rolls that remain unopened, based on modern catalogs, in some cases complemented by direct examination of the material stored in the so-called cassetti.
