IL POPOLO ETRUSCO E I POETI AUGUSTEI: I CASI DI PROPERZIO E ORAZIO
DOI:

The article continues the author’s reflection on the values that the Etruscans people brought to Roman civilization by analysing the poetics of two Augustan authors: Propertius and Horace. Both in fact had their own ethnic roots in different Italic communities: the first was Umbrian by birth, the second defined himself Lucan-Apulian. Starting from two different points
of view, we will try to understand the feeling they both felt towards the Etruscan people and then analyse which were the prevailing attitudes towards the people who first decided to assimilate themselves to the Roman culture enriching it with their own values
