Abstract

In this paper, I will sketch the history of the Officina dei Papiri Ercolanesi through the work of the people that have lived it. I will focus on the pivotal role since 1969 of the CISPE, the leading Institution in the field of Herculaneum papyri scholarship, for both the past and the future of the Officina.
