Abstract

The article, moving from the episode of the visit to Capua by Jean-Jacques Bouchard (1606-1641) in November 1632, analyzes the relationships between the French scholar and the Campanian antiquarians, in particular Camillo Pellegrino junior (1598-1663) and Pietro Lasena (1590-1636). New data on the network of cultural connections binding Naples to Rome and France in the first half of the seventeenth century are derived from the analysis of an unpublished correspondence, testified by the ms. Biblioteca Napoletana di Storia Patria, XXI.A.9.
