The Scholia Bembina are a substantial group of anonymous marginalia to the Terence’s comedies, found in the valuable manuscript Vat. Lat. 3226 (made in late antiquity), also known as Codex Bembinus. Since a couple of years, the codex can be consulted online thanks to the digital library service of the Vatican Library in which the manuscript is kept. To date two editions have been published: F. Umpfenbach (1867, the editio princeps) and J.F. Mountford (1934). Despite being the most remarkable and complete, also the Mountford’s edition has some reading errors and slips.
In this article the author, based on the collation he has made of the digitized reproduction of the manuscript, proposes some critical notes to the text of the scholia to Eunuchum in order to correct some of the points where the reading is wrong or confused, to restore some incomplete scholia and, finally, to bring to light the omitted ones.
