LA TRADIZIONE MANOSCRITTA DELL’HOMILIA IN MVLIERES VNGVENTIFERAS DI GREGORIO DI ANTIOCHIA (PG 88, CC. 1848-1866)

Abstract

The paper explains the research conducted on the manuscript tradition of Homilia in mulieres unguentiferas (PG 88, cc. 1848-1866) by Gregory, patriarch of Antioch since 570 to 593 AD.The survey on the catalogs allowed us to know about the existence of 110 unrecognized manuscripts, some of which have already been collated in order to find relationships for a future
critical edition of the work. In particular, attention focused on the first chapter of the work, which was provided with a provisional critical text (quite different from that of Migne) and an Italian translation. Ten important cases of textual criticism have been isolated and discussed.
